Hiring: Commercial Office Furniture Installers 

Location: Hampton Roads and Richmond

COMMERCIAL OFFICE FURNITURE INSTALLER

Job Description: 

As a Commercial Office Furniture Installer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, assembly, and installation of office furniture and modular wall systems at various client locations. This includes ensuring all products are installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines and client specifications. 


Responsibilities: 

● Unload incoming furniture trucks and load outgoing furniture trucks using material handling equipment (i.e., dollies, panel carts, pallet jack) 

● Install and assemble furniture systems from major manufacturers including HON, Steelcase, Allsteel, Herman Miller, MillerKnoll, etc. 

● Efficiently organize and maintain the warehouse area, ensuring safe and accessible storage of all furniture items 

● Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks, to move and arrange furniture safely 

● Conduct thorough inspections of incoming furniture shipments for quality and accuracy, noting any discrepancies or damages 

● Manage the safe loading and unloading of furniture, preventing potential damages

● Examine work order details in advance to ensure smooth installation processes

● Deliver furniture orders and stage product at the customer’s site for installation

● Complete furniture assembly and installation per installation specifications and blueprints to meet customer’s satisfaction 

● Inspect the furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer’s guidelines

● Install all types of free-standing furniture, panel, and modular systems, including placement and leveling 

● Secure customer approvals and signatures upon successful delivery and installation 


Uniform and Appearance: 

● Uniform worn daily: Khaki Dickie work pants (to be purchased by employee), uniform shirts provided by the company 

● Shirts shall be tucked in with a belt at all times 

● All PPE gear supplied: hard hat, ear protection, eye protection, safety-shoe voucher, safety training 

● Appearance must be neat daily: clean-shaven or neatly lined beard, hair must be kept neat or neatly covered 


Requirements: 

● Must have an active Real ID driver’s license 

● Clean driving record 

● Own transportation to drive to and from work daily 

● Ability to pass a background check for federal contracts and work on military installations

● Ability to safely drive a 26’ box truck 

● Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions 

● Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy items 

● Excellent communication and customer service skills 

● Experience: 1 to 2 years is preferred but not required as we will train on all furniture systems

All applicants will supply their own set of tools. Must demonstrate ability to operate basic power tools. Must possess good communication and customer service skills and be able to take direction well. Hours vary by job and location. The majority of our projects are during business hours, but could extend into some evenings and weekends. Periodically, we will have out-of-town travel opportunities which require overnight stays.
